What the Crown Volume Award Means
The FORTIFIED™ Crown Volume Award recognizes service providers who help a significant number of homeowners successfully complete FORTIFIED™ designations. In 2025, the Crown category honored organizations that facilitated between 1,000 and 2,499 FORTIFIED™ designations, demonstrating a substantial commitment to resilience and home protection.
This award is meaningful because it represents much more than numbers. It is the result of strong partnerships with our community and contractor partners. Each FORTIFIED™ designation reflects a homeowner who chose to invest in a stronger home, a family that gained additional protection and a community that became more resilient in the face of severe weather.
FORTIFIED™ Awards recognize the contributions of service providers, contractors, organizations and every FORTIFIED™ evaluator who helps homeowners navigate the process and meet the rigorous requirements of a FORTIFIED™ home designation. A Growing Mission Across More States
As demand for stronger homes continues to grow, so has our reach. Our goal is to continue expanding our work so more homeowners can benefit from FORTIFIED™ homes that better stand up to high winds and rain from severe storms.
Since last year, Fortified Inspections has expanded beyond its established Gulf Coast service areas and now assists homeowners in Oklahoma and Kentucky. The knowledge and experience we have gained is now helping homeowners in other states take steps to reduce future storm damage.
This growth reflects increasing awareness that severe weather protection is important far beyond coastal regions.
Oklahoma homeowners face significant risks from high winds, hail and tornado activity. Through programs such as the Strengthen Oklahoma Homes Program, more residents are discovering the benefits of investing in a FORTIFIED™ roof and other resilience-focused upgrades.
Similarly, homeowners in Kentucky can now access guidance through the Strengthen Kentucky Homes Program, which supports eligible roof improvements designed to reduce storm damage and improve home performance during severe weather events.
Our expansion is not simply about serving more locations. It is about helping more families understand their options, access available resources and take proactive steps toward protecting their homes.
Why FORTIFIED™ Homes Matter
FORTIFIED™ is a voluntary construction and re-roofing program developed from decades of research conducted by the Insurance Institute for Business & Home Safety.
The IBHS FORTIFIED™ standards focus on strengthening some of the most vulnerable parts of a home, particularly the roof system. A properly installed FORTIFIED™ roof is designed to better withstand high winds, wind-driven rain, hail, hurricanes, tornadoes and other severe weather hazards.
These improvements can help reduce storm-related damage and improve a home’s overall resilience. For homeowners, that often means greater confidence that their property is better prepared when severe weather strikes.
In addition to the safety benefits, homeowners may qualify for insurance discounts, FORTIFIED™ grants, tax incentives or other programs depending on their state, location and insurance provider. Programs like the Strengthen Oklahoma Homes Program and Strengthen Kentucky Homes Program continue to make home wind mitigation improvements more accessible for eligible homeowners.
